Dear Sir or Madam,

it’s that time again. The winter season is upon us, the days grow shorter and the weather colder. Nevertheless, there is plenty going on in Frankfurt over the next few months, including an array of interesting exhibitions, the opening of new hotels and museums as well as numerous live performances. Whatever your preference, we guarantee that your stay in the Main metropolis will be everything but boring. We look forward to seeing you here.

Best regards from Frankfurt am Main.

Sincerely yours,

Over thirty years ago, Andrew Lloyd Webber decided to use a collection of children’s poems by T.S. Elliot as basis for the compositions of the now world-famous musical "Cats". Premiering in London in 1981, "Cats" went on to attract millions of spectators all around the globe, becoming quite possibly the most popular musical of all time. Now, this classic musical is returning to Frankfurt for a short time only.

The Frankfurt Christmas Market looks back on over 700 years of history and tradition. This year’s market will once again be held on the Römerberg, the heart of Frankfurt’s historical old town. The Christmas tree, specially imported from Linz, Austria, will be illuminating the festive surroundings with hundreds of colourful fairy lights, creating a holiday atmosphere quite unlike any other.

Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt will be ending the year with two highly interesting art exhibitions. The first exhibition will be focusing on the artistic creations of Peter Doig, one of the most influential artists of contemporary times. This will also mark the first time that works by Peter Doig have been put on show in Germany. Some 50 paintings and 40 drawings will provide a comprehensive overview of his work of the past twenty years.
The second exhibition will be representing yet another first-time appearance in Germany. This time, the spotlight will be on René Magritte and the works of his période vache. Employing an unexpectedly crude, slightly playful and intentionally “poor” style, Magritte succeeded in provoking the Parisian artistic elite of the late 1940s.
